The Equipment Fund has been set up for many years now, in order to utilise funds donated to the Surgery by members of the community, and also by the Rhayader Focus on Health group.
The aim of the fund is to help the Surgery provide improved facilities and services to the Surgery’s patients, mainly in the form of new equipment.
Gwen Jones is a trustee of the Equipment Fund, and also Chairperson of Rhayader Focus on Health.
Recently we have spent some of the funds on two high backed chairs for the waiting room, cryotherapy equipment, a new opthalmoscope & otoscope equipment and a tonometer for the Eye Examination Room. The chairs have been welcomed by patients as they are more comfortable, especially for our elderly patients. The cryotherapy equipment has meant Dr Thompson is able to carry out these treatments here at the Surgery rather than at the local hospital, providing a more convenient service.
